The Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2) is a placement test for students enrolling in public colleges and universities in Texas. The written portion of the test helps determine whether students are ready for college-level writing courses.
In this webinar series, teachers from grades 8-12 will learn how to prepare students for the writing section of the TSIA2. This two-part training will address components of argumentation and persuasion, including the "concession," the "counterargument," and the "refutation," as well as strategies for planning and developing ideas for the essay. The training also reviews College Board's released Scoring Guidelines and provides strategies for the Sentence and Essay Revision multiple-choice sections of the exam.
