Texas Success Initiative (TSI): Close Reading and the Argumentation Essay

The TSI, or Texas Success Initiative, is an assessment that determines readiness for college instruction for incoming college students. Middle and high school students who wish to enroll in Dual Credit coursework, and those who do not meet the TSI exemptions based on SAT or STAAR scores, are required to take this exam. This TSI training will prepare teachers and students for the rigor of the reading and writing components of the TSI assessment, including grammatical concepts, multiple choice, and the argumentation essay.
