This webinar series provides PK-5 elementary educators with professional development in teaching the Jane Schaffer Academic Writing Program to elementary students.
Participants will receive a Teacher's Guide and Student Masters for each mode of writing they register to attend: Introduction, Personal and Fictional Narrative, Expository, Opinion, and Response to Literature. Those who register for all sessions will receive all five guides.
In this workshop, participants will learn
- the JSWP terminology, color-coding, and methodology;
- the step-by-step scaffolding process for students of various ages and cognitive levels;
- how to present models to students and creative activities to practice the process; and
- how to assess the work created.
